Gordon Aiken of Hamilton, formerly of Orillia and Gravenhurst, was a Canadian lawyer, judge, and politician.
Survived by his wife Ingrid and former wife Marie Barnes of Aurora. Loving father of Clare and husband Edward Bryja of Ancaster, Carol and husband Alex Cooper of Edmonton, Anne and husband Rene Petitjean of Dundein, George and daughterin-law Gayla of Bracebridge and Roger of Barrie. Dear grandfather of Lynne, John, Kerry, Lisa, Dave, Andre, Jules, Elise, Kyla and Kade and great-grandfather of Ashleigh, Steven, Jordan, Jenna and Nathan. Dear brother of Beth Wilson of Font Hill, Louise Lohnes of New Hamburg and the late Lloyd. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday. Visitation 1-2 P.M. at Trinity United Church, Gravenhurst on Thursday, February 17, 2000. Service to follow at 2 P.M. Interment, Mickel Memorial Cemetery, Gravenhurst. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Trans Canada Trail would be appreciated. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #302, Gravenhurst, are asked to gather at the funeral home for service Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock.

Gordon received his early schooling in Allenford and Owen Sound. Later, he graduated from Osgoode Law School in 1940 and articled with Owen Sound barrister, Arthur Marron.
Gordon Harvey Aiken was an officer of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry during the Second World War. He enlisted on November 7, 1940 and served in England, France, Holland and Germany. Gordon was discharged from service in January of 1946.

After the war, Gordon practiced law in Muskoka, Ontario and was a judge of the juvenile and family court from 1951 to 1956. Gordon was elected to the Canadian House of Commons representing the riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka in 1957. A Progressive Conservative, he was re-elected five times in 1958, 1962, 1963, 1965, and 1968. From 1963 to 1972, Gordon was the opposition critic in relation to the environment and was deputy house leader from 1967 to 1970.

For over a period of sixty years, Gordon was a member of the Tara, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst Legion Branches. Gordon passed away at the age of 82 in Hamilton on February 12, 2000.
