George Lewis Brandon, 78, of Kingsland died Tuesday September 17, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock. Born July 16, 1941 at Kingsland, he was a son of the late Johnie Brandon and Lorene Dykes Brandon.
He was a 1959 graduate of Kingsland High School. He was a member of New Edinburg First Baptist Church and a Master Mason in Lodge #430 of Kingsland, a Past Master, and belonged to Huey Lodge #78 New Edinburg. He was in the U.S Army for 22 1/2 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in Germany, Korea, Vietnam and Stateside. He has been a minister since February of 1991. He loved fishing, hunting, and almost all sports, westerns, gardening, and most of all God and his family.
George was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Johnny Blaine Brandon and Stacey Craig Brandon; and a brother, Glen E. Brandon.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nan Brandon of Kingsland, son, Jeffrey B. Brandon and wife Debbie of Houston; daughter-in-law, April Brandon of Star City; brother, John Brandon and wife Barbara of Jonesboro; sister, Anna Lane of Poland, OH; sister-in-law, Shelby Brandon of Sherwood; grandchildren, Sarah and husband Alex, Johnathan Brandon, Brianna Brandon; and great-grandchildren Aria and Ella.
