Betty Arlene McFarland Bunn, age 89, passed peacefully April 6, 2015, of natural causes, in Grantsville, Utah. Betty was born July 8, 1925, to Fayette Gordon and Melba Jean Park McFarland in Ophir, Utah. She was the oldest of six children and grew up in Ophir, attending school in Ophir and graduating from Tooele High in 1943. She married George Arnold Bunn on Dec. 31, 1943, in Salt Lake City. Betty and George had three children, Stephen G. (Jeannette), Kenneth Lee and Leslie (Harold) Chadwick. Betty worked for McFarland & Hullinger most of her adult life, retiring in 2001 at the age of 76. She was proud of her mining heritage and had a wonderful work ethic. She loved receiving news about her extended family and their activities. Betty was generous in support of her children, grand-children and great grandchildren at holidays and on their birthdays. Betty's specialty was a treat and a two-dollar bill. She played the organ and accordion, she also enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by her son Stephen (Jeannette), seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sisters Carolyn Townsend and Karlene Whitehouse. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Leslie Chadwick, son Kenneth Lee Bunn, brothers, Fayette P. and Gary P. McFarland and sister Margene McFarland. We would like to thank all of the wonderful people at Diamond Jane's and Pine Mountain Hospice for their kind and compassionate service they gave to Betty. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Tate Mortuary at 11 a.m. with a viewing held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Tooele City Cemetery.
