Youngest daughter of Samuel and Elvia Adams, was born on September 13, 1937 in Rison, Arkansas. Mother Taylor departed this life on September 14th, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. Mother Taylor followed the Lord Jesus in baptism at the age of 13 at Union Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Sayles.

Mother Taylor moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1954. She divided her time between being a mother to her children and a faithful member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church under her pastor F. C. Conrey and A. L. Johnson.

She was married to Russell Hill, he was a wonderful husband and father to their children until his passing in 1976.

In 1994, Mother Taylor married Deacon Robert Taylor. They enjoyed time together until his passing in 2005.

In 1999, she joined New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church, led by Pastor Ronald Gill. Active in the church, Mother Taylor was part of the mission program and a mother of the church. Outside of her responsibilities at home and church, Mother Taylor enjoyed fishing and bowling.

Mother Odessa Hill Taylor was proceeded in death by her by her father, mother, sisters, brothers and both husbands. She is survived by five children: Robert J Chase of Kansas City Missouri, Joe W. HillBey of Washington, Willie L. Hill (Sheila) Leavenworth, KS, Elvia J. Brown of Raymore Missouri, and Samuel H. Hill (Kim) of Tacoma Washington. She is also survived by 7 step-children, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
