Alice Kristal Holmes

Alice Kristal Holmes, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on her birthday. Alice, lovingly referred to as “Grammie” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, of whom she adored, was born to David and Esther Kristal. She was sealed to the Gladys and Merwin Biggs family, when she made the decision to convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the age of 14 years.

She referred to this decision as one of the best she made in her lifetime.

She met Leo Lamar Holmes while serving his LDS mission in El Monte, California.

They married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 22nd, 1952.

Alice had the singing voice of an angel and recorded a love song for her husband when they were first married.

As a convert to the LDS church, Alice was passionate about researching and submitting names of her ancestors for Temple Ordinances.

She submitted over 14,000 names.

Alice always opened her home to those who were in need.

Alice was loved by her family and friends, and dearly missed by all.

Alice is survived by her daughters: Kristene Poulsen, Diane Wilsted, Kaylyn Fletcher, Lisa Gifford, and Jennifer Rich, 24 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lamar Holmes, daughter Leslie, grandsons Clint Coppin, and Adam Fletcher.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East Springville, Utah.
