Vera L. Green, 90 of Cleveland TN passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 peacefully in a local healthcare facility.
She was a teacher for many years in GA and TN, retiring from Polk County High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Calvin Green, her sister Alice Green Harbison, her parents William Alexander Green Sr. and Annie Adelaide Green and a very precious person Warren “Runt” McQueen.
Vera is survived by her brother William (Bill) Green Jr. and wife Helen Joyce Green, brother in law Charles Harbison, niece, Connie Green, nephews, Steve and Chris Harbison and Billy and Mark Green. Several special great nieces and nephews also survive.
Celebration of Vera’s life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 4:00 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with the Rev. Ken Scoggins officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service time on Saturday. Committal will immediately follow at the Mt. Herman Cemetery in Polk County, TN. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Polk County Education Foundation, P.O. Box 752, Benton, TN 37307.
