TRINITY – Juanita Hardy Foster, 83, died Monday, September 16, 2019, at her residence.
She was born September 8, 1936, in Surry County and was the daughter of the late Irvin Eli and Frances Marie Southern Suggs. She studied accounting at GTCC in Jamestown and was a retired administrative assistance with Dr. James Pope, Optometrist, in Thomasville. Juanita was a charter member of Colonial Baptist Church and was actively involved in the ministry of the church. She served as senior coordinator for the elderly, was a member of the church choir, and played the piano at the church for twelve years. She was also a member of the family food committee and a former member of the pulpit search committee.
On February 1, 1952, she married Douglas “Doug” Floyd Foster and God blessed them with a strong Christian marriage for sixty-seven years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Douglas Floyd Foster, Jr. (Felecia) of Asheboro and Dawne Foster Hubbell (Chris) of Archdale; six grandchildren, Alecia Fuller (Tripp), Megan Fox (Jeremy), Cory Foster, Seth Foster, Adam Hubbell and Jennifer Hubbell; five great-grandchildren, Elgin Fuller, Haven Fuller, Khora Fuller, Carolyne Fox and Austin Fox; and sister, Aloma Crenshaw of Raleigh.
Funeral service celebrating Juanita’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Colonial Baptist Church in Trinity with Pastor Jonathan Collins and Rev. Steve Jarvis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 23, 2019, at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
