. . . Funeral services for Joe Cupp, 71, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, were held Monday, Dec. 11. . . Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Westlawn Memorial park.
Joe Cupp, retired deputy sheriff and county jailer of Hall county, died in the family home at 322 E. Eighth. He had been critically ill for the past two months. Mr. Cupp was born Sept. 15, 1881, in Marceline, Mo., to Mr. and Mrs. Abe Cupp. As a young man he came to Grand Island in 1906 and was employed here by Ed Miner. Mr. Cupp and Miss Emma Gaver were married Nov. 11, 1910. He became a member of the city police department serving on the department for many years. Later he became a deputy sheriff of Hall county and county jailor. . . He is survived by his wife, two brother, Newton Cupp of Omaha, and John Cupp of LaBelle, Mo.; and by several nieces and nephews. . .
