"Emma graduated from Mertzon High School and attended Mary-Hardin Baylor College in Belton, Texas for one year. She taught school for one year in Del Rio where she met and married Will J. Murrah, a ranchman, in 1929. They moved to their ranch near Pandale, Texas and lived there until he died. On May 11, 1934 Emma married her old high school sweetheart, Guy Hargrave. He was a ranchman in Reagan County and later they moved to Mertzon and operated a dry good store owned by his father. Emma was the artist of the familty. She drew beautiful pictures and we all have at least one in our homes. She loved to play the piano and took lessons; however, she played mostly by ear. She took voice lessons as well, and since Papa loved to sing, our family had many sing-song sessions when we were growing up. Emma did beautiful needlework. She made many quilt tops and crochet of all kinds. One of her hobbies was making "his & her" aprons which she sold and gave the money to her church. There was an article about her and her aprons in the San Angelo Standard Times. There were no children from either marriage". Submitted 1975 by her sister, Lucille Dameron Ellis.
