Mark J. Rice, 51, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019.

He was born Sept. 22, 1967 in Burlington, son of Kermit and Judy Kerr Rice.

He married Keri Struckman May 1, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Mark held various jobs in sales management, currently as territorial sales manager for MI Windows & Doors, Gratz, Pennsylvania.

Mark was the self-declared “#1 Penn State Fan in Iowa”, so in his honor, the family requests that everyone where white to create a “White-Out” for Mark. Above all, Mark's greatest joy in life was being Macoy's dad.

He is survived by: his wife, Keri; his sons, Macoy Bryan Rice at home, Matthew David Franks of Milan, Ill. and Taku Maturure of Bettendorf; his parents, Kermit and Judy Rice of Burlington, Iowa; his father-in-law, David (Sheila) Struckman of Donahue, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Delane Struckman of Davenport; four siblings, Diana (Don) Altimus of Mediapolis, Iowa, Robin (Roger) Nevling of Greeley, Colorado, Duane (Kate) Rice of Plymouth, Minn. and Lisa (Dave) Patrick of Wapello, Iowa; four special nieces, Aundrea, Jodi, Skyy and Taylor; numerous other nephews and nieces; his best friend Jim Noss of Waterloo; and his loyal companion, Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by: his brother, Kermit David Rice; his brother-in-law, Bryan David Struckman; his nephew, Andrew Palmer.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, also at the funeral home on West Ridgeway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wells Fargo for an educational fund for Macoy.
