Genevieve (Poni) Lucas, age 68, of Easton, wife of the late Robert J. Lucas, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. Mrs. Lucas was born in Stratford, and was an area resident all of her life. She was a retired operating room nurse for St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was an active member of the Notre Dame of Easton parish, where she served as the parish nurse, a lay minister and Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary and was a longtime volunteer for the Diabetes Association and for breast cancer patients.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Felix and Frank Poniatowski. Friends are invited to attend the funeral TODAY at 10 a.m. directly at Notre Dame of Easton Church for a Mass of Resurrection. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to Swim Across the Sound, c/o St. Vincent's medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606. The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is in care of arrangements.
