Larry M. Dunn, 80, of Cordova, Illinois, died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Saturday prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cordova Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Larry was born October 13, 1938 in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Emily (DeSpain) Dunn. He married Mary “Jane” Vidrine on November 10, 1962 in Ville Platt, LA. He served honorably in the United States Army. Larry was employed by John Deere Plow Planter for 34 years, retiring in May of 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He loved his horses, hot rods and racing. He had a strong relationship with his Lord and lived his life for his family. He was the world’s best father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, Cordova; sons, Mike (Deb) Dunn, Moline, Chris (Shannon) Dunn, Cordova; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Jake) Peterson, Asjia Blankenship, Adam Dunn, and Brooke Dunn; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee, Peyton, and Eli Peterson.
