A son of Rufus P and Myrtle (Cope) Adams. He lived in Vernon, Texas from 1919 until his graduation from high school in 1936 when he moved to Los Angeles. He served in the US Army during WW II. Mr. Adams was married to Bertha (Cowles) Hethrington on January 1, 1955, they were the parents of her two sons, Lt Col James Hethrington, Jacksonville, Fl and Joseph Hethrington, Los Angeles. He was a city engineer for the city of Canoga Park, scheduled to retire in November, 1974 when he died unexpectedly at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was survived by his wife, two stepsons and a brother, Everett Adams of Vernon, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Herbert, Wiley and G. B. His obituary reported his funeral was held at Lorenzen Mortuary, 19300 Sherman Way with interment at Reseda.
