Mrs. Frances Pugh Bearden (Grandma) - A native of Salitpa, Alabama, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, departed this life on Thursday, March 10, 1983. She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted daughters, Mrs. Fannie Mae Marton and Mrs. Mary B. Kennedy both of Mobile; one step-daughter, Mr. Sybil Bearden of Los Angeles, California; one step-son, Mr. James (Sue) Bearden of Fairhope, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Emma Pugh Bumpers of Winn, Alabama; 14 devoted grandchildren, Frances E. Marton, Thelma and Sylvester Kennedy, Jr., of Houston, Texas, Constance K. (John) Swanson, Florissant, Missouri, Samone (Von Steven) Conway of New Iberia, Louisiana, Deborah, Sandra and Ashley Kennedy, Frederick, Joyce, William, Mary, Allison and Lisa Marton of Mobile; 14 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from the Hope Chapel AME Zion, 254 Cuba on Sunday, March 13, 1983. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be held from the church on Monday, March 14, 1983 at 2 P.M. with the Rev. James Taylor officiating minister. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, 201 N. Hamilton, Mobile, Alabama.
