Shelia Tynes Bates, 60, of Sedalia died on Friday, September 16, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Bates was a cook at the Long Horn Restaurant in Mayfield; and of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving is her husband, Jesse Bates of Sedalia; four children, Jessica Holmes, Eric Vaneura, Kristin Strupek, Jesse Bates Jr.; two sisters, Kimberly Babb and Peggy Caldwell; one brother, William Tynes; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Tynes Jr. and Shirley Langston; and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Wingo Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
