He was born October 20, 1947 to Horace Jack Haney and Mary Margret (Kohnle) Haney and raised in Southern California where he enjoyed surfing, swimming, water polo, hanging out at the beach and cruising the strip.
At the age of 19, Terry joined the United States Air Force where he served as a Nuclear-Weapons Specialist during the Vietnam war.
He married his beautiful wife, Deborah Lyn (Moore) on February 3, 1973 in Anaheim California, earned his Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University then began his career in Engineering Management for Xerox eventually leading to a career as an International Technical Marketing Executive.
Always forward thinking, he was as an Entrepreneur, starting his own business named Debco, a Professor at the University of Phoenix, Author of the book “Implied Fear”, and the go-to-guy for electrical components at Lowe’s.
Terry was a World Traveler, spending significant time in numerous countries throughout Europe and Asia.
Terry was a selfless, devoted husband who exemplified the marriage vows of sticking with your spouse through good times and bad, sickness and health, till death do you part.
He was a father to three boys, Mark, Gary, and David. He coached their teams, umpired their games, volunteered as their Indian Guide, assisted with homework, and taught them how the world works and how to be men.
Terry was a proud grandfather of seven, Allan, Sami, Luke, Justin, Mary, Charlie, and Mia; uncle to many, and friend to ALL!
He is survived by his treasured and adored wife Debbie and his three sons, Mark (Christi), Gary (fiancée Kirsti), and David (Margo) and was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Haney.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11am on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy. where services will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
