Mr. Bobby Gene Sullivan, Sr., age 87, of North Manker Street in Brunson, died Thursday afternoon in the Medical University Hospital in Charleston.

Mr. Sullivan was born May 14, 1931 in Fairfax, a son of the late John Mack Sullivan, Sr. and Addie Bunch Sullivan. He was a graduate of Brunson High School and had served 38 years with the Hampton National Guard Unit, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was Past Master of Evergreen Masonic Lodge and Past President of the Jahab Shrine Club. He served on the Hampton County Fire Board, the Brunson Fire Department and the Brunson Town Council. He was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church and attended the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are: his wife: Eileen Polk Sullivan of Brunson; daughters: Cathy S. Kinsey and husband Allen of Orangeburg, Debra S. Guthrie and husband Robert of St. Helena Island, and Nancy L. Sullivan of Brunson; son: Bobby Gene Sullivan, Jr. of Brunson; brother: James C. Sullivan of Lakeland, Florida; sister: Ruth S. Jamison of Hampton; grandchildren: Jake Sullivan and wife Kimberly, Nikki Sullivan, Jeremy Sullivan and wife Echo, Christopher Mock, Jr., Josh Kinsey and wife Samantha, Whitney Kinsey Lykes and husband James, Heath Guthrie and wife Tiffany, Kyle Guthrie and wife Brittany, DeAnn Guthrie, and Robert Guthrie, Jr. and wife Paige; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sullivan was predeceased by: brothers: John Mack Sullivan, Jr., William Sullivan and Ronnie Sullivan; and sisters: Jeanelle Couch and Mary Ann Jarrell.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge with burial in the Fairfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 pm at the Chapel located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
