Funeral Mass for William "Bill" E. Fischer, 92, of Glen Ullin will be 11:00 am CT, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation for William will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm CT, Monday, March 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil service taking place at 7:00 pm CT.
William passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.
William Emanuel was born February 7, 1927 in Glen Ullin, the son of Emanuel and Elizabeth (Fitterer) Fischer. He attended country school and Sacred Heart Catholic School through the eighth grade. Bill married Catherine Thomas on September 12, 1950 in Glen Ullin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were blessed with five children who they raised on the family farm. Bill and Catherine lived on the farm until 1989 when they semi-retired and moved into Glen Ullin. Bill was a farmer most of his life and returning to the farm to help his son, Terry was a great joy for him, especially combining season. Family was very important and Bill enjoyed family get-togethers. He also enjoyed coffee almost every day with his coffee buddies. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; his children, Karen (Steve) Sayler of Wishek, Cheryl (Joel) Kadrmas of Bismarck, Carleen (Alan) Kadrmas of South Heart, Mary Ann (Ludwig) Kadrmas of Dickinson, Terry Fischer of Glen Ullin; nine grandchildren, Lance (Tammy) Sayler, Liza Jo (Paul) Rasmussen, Lacey (Preston) Schaffner, Josh (Lindy) Kadrmas, Jesse (Lindsey) Kadrmas, Shaun (Crissy) Kadrmas, Jessica (Matt) Zastoupril, Jeremy (Kayla) Kadrmas, Jayme (Pernora) Kadrmas and 25 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe (Adeline) Thomas of Bismarck; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Elizabeth; sister, Geraldine (Hank) Brakebush; two infant brothers; sister-in-law, Isabelle (Pete) Dietrich.
