Obituary for Thelma L. Moore
Thelma LaVon Moore, age 105, of Ottawa, KS, passed away September 7, 2019, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. She was born July 26, 1914 in Valley Center, KS, the daughter of Herman Lambert and Minnie (Runyan) Lambert. Thelma grew up in the Andover, KS area graduating from Andover High School with the class of 1933.
Thelma was a hairdresser for over fifty-two years in the Wichita, KS area and then in the Ottawa area when she moved here in 1955.
She was a member of the North Baptist Church, Ottawa, and a proud regular attendee of Sunday School when she was able.
On May 10, 1941 Thelma was united in marriage to Robert Moore in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Floyd Lambert, and her sister Grace.
Thelma is survived by a daughter, Janis K. Meyer and her husband Duane, San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Derek Meyer, Bixby, OK and Megan Hixson, Hot Springs, Arkansas; and four great grandchildren, Joshua Hixson, Mikayla Hixson, Conner Meyer, and Chloe Meyer.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 28, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, KS. Family will meet with friends for a visitation 6-8p.m. Friday, September 27, 2019 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.
