In 1952 the family relocated to California and Clistus graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1957.
In 1959 Clistus married his first love Margarette McCullough. From this reunion 7 children were born, Yvonne, Clistus Jr. Gregory, Jefferey, Cassandra, Kareen and Micheal. In addition to his own 7 children he also raised his sister Rebecca 2 youngest children Robertha and Carmellia after she passed away. During that time Clistus joined the Army reserves and completed two years. Soon after he opened his own Auto Body Shop in Garden Grove called Tripp’s Auto Body
Later in life he was joined in matrimony with Eva Walker in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Clistus enjoyed playing cards, Dominos and playing with his dogs. He was a member of Mount Rubidoux 7 Day Adventist Church.
Preceding Clistus in death were his mother and father, Annie Mae and Tommie Tripp Sr., three brothers Tommie, Charles and his twin Claddis, two sisters Rebecca and Cynthia.
His memories will forever be cherished by his wife Eva, his seven children Yvonne Collins (Burrell), Clistus (Debbie), Gregory, Jefferey (Rachel), Cassandra Toon (William), Kareen Wardlow (Jeff) and Micheal. Two brothers Tyrone and Timothy Tripp, a host of Grand and Great-Grandchildren, relatives and friends
His special heart Shelaine, calls always ended up with a “hang up” and never a “goodbye” and a night rarely ended without a conversation with Bear and Josiah.
Upon his marriage to Eva he gained Harold who he talked to every night regarding sports.
