Kathryn was born to Hazel and Clyde North on March 2, 1931 in Kansas City.
She graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City and the University of Kansas.
Kathryn left behind her husband, Jerry, of 61 years. Kathryn is survived by sons Brooke Burton and his wife Karen of Highlands Ranch, CO and Bill Burton and his wife Wendy of Los Angeles, CA. Kathy is also survived by five grandchildren she loved so much: Kelby and her husband Kurt, Marley and her husband Alex, Thatcher, Connor, and Chase.
Kathryn and Jerry were the proud owners of Denver's Cherry Creek Card and Party Shop for nearly 50 years. Her deep love of family, friends, and neighbors was always forefront as she happily shared hand-written notes with stunning penmanship, unexpected gifts, and the exciting details of everyone's latest activities. Kathy always enjoyed nights with friends dancing and talking, dining at all her favorite Denver restaurants, and her never-ending quest for the perfect shrimp. Quite the self-taught cook her family will always cherish the smell and taste of her spaghetti and meatballs, brisket, and potato salad.
