Charles Michael "Chuck" Nehl, 55, of Alta Vista, died at home Tuesday, July 3.

He was born April 28, 1952, in Cresco, and was adopted at one week of age by
Reynold and Delores Rohe Nehl.

He married Vickie Miller on June 19, 1976, at Zion Lutheran Church in Alta Vista.

Mr. Nehl graduated from New Hampton High School in 1971, then helped his
parents farm until 1973.

He worked for Mahoney Oil Co. for several years, then worked with his parents in the construction business. He also helped his parents at the lumber yard for 19 years and continued to work there for 19 years when it became Ray's Lumber Co. He then worked for Featherlite Trailers.

He had been a member of the Alta Vista Fire Department since 1973, the Alta Vista Ambulance since 1978 and was also on the Chickasaw County rescue squad for many years.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery, both in Alta Vista. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at ConwayKolbet Funeral Home, Elma, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
