Jerry Franklin Burch, 69, resident of 107 Greenbriar Drive, husband of Brenda Joyce Cockrell Burch died November 21, 2009 at Hospice House. Born in Franklin NC, August 28, 1940, he was son of Violet Rose Milsap Burch Abernathy and the late Bob Franklin Burch. He was a graduate Newberry High School and retired from Monsanto after 37 years of service. Mr. Burch formerly coached the Dixie Youth Baseball at Greenwood Parks and Recreation for 20 years. Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years of the home are his mother and step-father, Arnold Abernathy of Hayesville NC; four sons, Danny and wife Joan Burch of Cornelia GA, Benji Burch of Greenwood, Jeff and wife Linda Burch of Greenwood and Chris and wife Mary Burch of Ninety Six; two brothers, Rodney and wife Lisa Burch of Prosperity and Teddy Burch of Hayesville NC; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ginger B. Woodall and a brother, Bobby D. Burch. Memorial services from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel.
