Melvin O. Cook, 84, of Beebe and formerly of Brinkley, passed from this life Friday, September 13th, 2019 with family by his side. He was born in the Cypress Ridge Township of Monroe County on May 29th, 1935 to Willie A and Nellie Phillips Cook. He was married to Wilma Bailey Cook for 42 years, and she preceded him in death in 1998. In 2006 he married Kathy Nokes.

In addition to his first wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers J.B. Cook, Raymond Cook, Harold Cook, and Ray Evans, sisters Betty Morris and Carolyn Terry, son-in-law Larry Blackwell, and stepson Darrell Nokes. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Cheryl Blackwell, Barry Cook, and Lynette (Mark) Herbst, stepson Micheal Nokes, sister Mary Lou (Bob) Scallorn, grandchildren Jennifer (Jonathan) Short, Shane Blackwell, Derrek (Tracy) Nokes, Alexis (Robert) Roberson, Alesha (Casey) Sanders, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rich. Burial at Upper Cemetery.
