Teresa was born to Henry and Martha Rollinger on May 26, 1938 in Bernard Iowa. Teresa then moved to Maquoketa and lived there until the death of her husband in 1985. At that time she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where her oldest daughter lived. She lived there until her death.
Teresa met the love of her life, John Welch and they got married on January, 21, 1955. To this union were born 3 children, Christine, Kathy and Ken. Teresa enjoyed being a stay at home mother until 1976 when she went to work as a Nurses Aid at Maquoketa Community Hospital. Teresa then worked at Medallion Assisted Living in Colorado Springs until her retirement in 2003.
Upon retirement, Teresa moved to Village at the Bluffs in Colorado Springs, where she lived for 17 years and was one of the first residents to move in. Teresa enjoyed all things Iowa Hawkeyes, Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. She also enjoyed knitting blankets, hats and especially Christmas stockings for each of her children and their spouses and grandchildren, but most of all she was the most happiest when all of her family was around!
She is survived by her children, Christine McNeely (Don) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kathy Napier of Williamstown, Kentucky, and Ken Welch (Theresa) of Madrid, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tom McNeely, Mike McNeely (Sami), Dave McNeely (Holly), John Goodrich (Danielle), Cannon Goodrich, Br. Pier Giorgio Maria Welch and Olivia Welch; great-grandchildren, Alice McNeely, Abbie McNeely, TJ Irvine and Hoyt Goodrich; siblings, Joan McClimon of Dyersville, IA, and Joe (Janet) Rollinger of Maquoketa, IA; and a sister-in-law Joy Rollinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 30 years, John Welch, siblings Donald Rollinger, Kay Keil, Jerry Rollinger, sister-in-law Helen Rollinger, brothers-in-law Bunce Keil and John McClimon, daughter-in-law Robin Welch and son-in-law Bobby Napier.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Religious Order of her grandson, The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal 523 W. 142nd St. New York City, NY 10031.
