Connie L. Steel-Tillman
After courageously fighting ovarian cancer for 4 years, Connie Steel passed away peacefully on February 8, 2015. She was born on July 6, 1947 in Bedford, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Arvilla Kagarise of Bedford. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1965. Connie retired from State Farm Insurance in August 2007 after more than 30 years of service. She worked in several locations in the Atlanta region. In September 2004 she married Myless (Mickey) Tillman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Eugene Kagarise, sister Beverly Stutzman and two infant siblings Peggy and Tom.
She is survived by son Robert L. Steel and wife Cynthia of Kennesaw GA, son Chris Steel and wife Cori of Longwood FL, grandchildren Katie Angeles and husband Chris, Jordan, Dylan, Jake, Gabrielle and Bradley Steel; great granddaughter Peyton Angeles; sister Edith Mutchler of Greeley CO, Betty Conrath of Osterburg, PA, Shirley Hall and husband Melvin of Dudley, PA, Nancy Mock and husband Robert of Bedford PA, Carolyn Long and husband Ronald of East Petersburg, PA and Cheryle Engbert and husband Richard of Schellsburg PA; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She was a board member of the Spicers Grove Homeowner's Assoc. Connie was a member of Wesley Chapel UMC, where she served on the Board of Trustees and a lay minister. Connie enjoyed volunteering and working for Cherokee County Board of Elections.
