Mrs. Helen Arnold Summey, 87, of Cartersville, GA passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Americus, GA on October 8, 1931 to the late Mr. Thomas Lester Arnold and Mrs. Lucy Cole Arnold.

Helen was a devoted mother and wife. She came to Cartersville in 1950 to teach at Emerson School. Helen coached the boys and girls basketball teams. She met her husband John Summey on the Cartersville town square. She retired from the Bartow County School System after 20 years of service. Helen was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a lover of country music, especially Conway Twitty, NASCAR, and all sports. Helen will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Summey, her parents, sister, Anne Standridge, and sister -in-law, Mozelle Summey.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Krasnesky, grandson, John Charles Wilson, grand daughters; Karla (Brent) Adams, Laura Landon, and Tina Edelein, brother, Tommy (Mary Jane) Arnold, brother - in - law, Kent Summey, nieces, Debbie Standridge, Charlene Agan, and Angela (Tim) Spires and nephews; Ward (Martha) Standridge, Greg (Lane) Arnold, and Brian (Diana) Arnold.

A Celebration of Life Service for Helen will be conducted Monday, September 16, 2019 at Faith United Methodist Church, 501 Grassdale Rd, Cartersville, GA 30121 at twelve o'clock noon with the Rev. Charlie Marus officiating. Helen will be placed to rest next to her husband at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at ten thirty in the morning.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Sunday, September 15, 2019 from five o'clock in the evening until eight.
