Harold H. Higgins, 95, of Delta Township, formerly of Portland, Michigan, passed away on September 11, 2019 in Lansing.

Harold was a General Motors retiree and proudly served in the United States Army during WWII, and was an honored recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and attended the Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Grand Ledge Kiwanis Club, Men's Bible Study Group, former Boy Scout Leader; loved to play Skippo, and enjoyed singing hymns weekly at the Delta Retirement Home.

Harold is survived by stepchildren, Gary (Joyce) Wickerham of Muskegon, Sharon Antoinette of Ypsilanti, and Ronald Wickerham of Lansing; 3 step-grandchildren: Glenn, Brennan and Brandylee; 2 great step-grandchildren, Autumn and Chelsea, and 5 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Catherine Jeanette and late wife Jean (Wickerham); sisters: Grace Hunt, Arlene Mead, Dorothy Lyon, and brother William Henry Higgins.

A funeral service will be held September 19, 2019 – 2:00 p.m. at Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with Military Honors to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. For those wishing, memorial contributions made to the Sparrow Foundation for Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project will be greatly appreciated.
