She is survived by her father and mother, Oliver and Barbara Smith Holbert, Baton Rouge; biological father, Burnell Herbert; two daughters, Barbara and Lizzie Herbert, Baton Rouge; step-daughter, Kimberly Gardner, Baton Rouge; two sons, Jeremy Herbert and Ryland Gardner, both of Baton Rouge; two step-sons, Roland Patterson and Roderick Gardner, both of Baton Rouge; sister, Melissa Herbert Sparks and husband Jawar; two step-sisters, Cynthia H. Hymon and husband George, and Sarah H. Walls, Virginia Beach, Va.; three step-brothers and spouses, Oliver III and Christin Holbert, White Plains, Md., Glenn and Cynthia Holbert, Vacaville, Calif., and Larry and Wendy Holbert, Seaside, Calif.; uncle, Huey Smith and wife Elaine; close friend, Roland Gardner; and other relatives, including Rose H. Trusclair and the Hebert family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Provasty and Lizzie Smith; and cousin, Huey H. Smith Jr.
