Physician, humanitarian and advocate. Dr. Jacob Bolotin was the first blind person to become a licensed medical doctor. The son of Russian Jewish immigrants, he fought his way into the Chicago School of Medicine and graduated with honors at age twenty-four. He became both a noted specialist in heart and lung diseases, and a well-known spokesman and advocate for people with disabilities.
