On Monday, April 26, 2010, Candy Anderson, 55, lost her battle with cancer. She fought right up to the end. Candy was at home surrounded by her family and friends. Candy was born on Feb. 28, 1955, the daughter of Alva and Frances Penney. She graduated from Stamford Central School. She was employed by Walmart of Kingston. Candy is survived by her mother, Frances Penney; her sister, Elizabeth Tompkins; daughters, Christina and Marilyn Anderson, and Sarah Myers; grandchildren, Mike, Joey, Geanna, Helena, Gabriella and Cole; two sons-in-laws, Steven Maxim and Bill Hamil; nieces, Joanna and Jennifer and her great-nephews, Trey, Brandon and Jonathan. Candy is predeceased by her father, Alva Penney and her brother, Roscoe Penney. Until the end, Candy was surrounded by her family and many friends, who loved her very much. Calling hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m.. Sunday May 2, at Hall Tari Funeral home, 40 Main St., Stamford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, at the funeral home with Pastor Dot Morris officiating. The calling hours and funeral service are private and by invitation only. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, Stamford, under the direction of William A. Tari.
