Gary Lee Sumner, age 70, of Crossville, TN passed away on September 11, 2019 at the Nashville VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Gary was a United States Army Veteran and a retired diesel mechanic for Cummins Diesel. He was a member of Church of God.
Gary was born on November 06, 1948 to the late Charlie Sumner and the late Elsie Perry Sumner. He is also preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Bishop and Ronnie Sumner and one sister-in-law: Barbara Sumner.
He leaves surviving his wife of 47 years: Phyllis Sumner; one daughter: Deanna Sumner Combs (Troy) of Big Creek, KY; one son: Gary Donavan Sumner (Christa) of Sassafras, KY; one brother: Mitchell Sumner (Ina) of Monticello, KY; three sisters: Winona Maggard (Walter) of Louisville, KY, Betty Combs (Bob) of Partridge, KY & Anna Mae Whitaker (Linnia) of Viper, KY; four grandchildren: Lyndci Combs Cornett (Justin), Robert Shane Combs, Makenzie Sumner & Madison Sumner; one great grandchild: Rohan Zane Cornett; special in-laws: Wilma, Pat, Louise, Shirley, Rex & Delane as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9PM Sat. September 14, 2019 at the Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel
Funeral will be at 12PM Sunday September 15, 2019 at Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel with Rev Lyndon Barger and Rev. Terry Joseph officiating
