Jim Smith, age 77, passed away on September 10, 2019 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO. He was born on January 31, 1942 in Salem NJ. On April 24, 1973 in New Madrid, MO. he married Bettie Williams Smith, who survives of the home in Benton, MO.
He had worked at Slusher Farm and Home Center in Sikeston. Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Leslie and Jared Herndon of Sikeston, MO. and Teresa Hawkins of Morley, M0.; four grandchildren, Lindsey Hawkins of Morley, MO., Daryl Babb Jr. of Paducah, Ky., Brittaney Ruedrich of Sikeston, MO. and Leston Babb of Spokane, WA.; four great-grandchildren, Emaleigh Ruedrich, Madelyn Ruedrich, Henley Babb and Kaylee Williams. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
