Harold was born on a farm to Charles and Lillie Foster.
He entered the United States Army in January 1941. He served 4-1/2 years in both the Pacific and European Theaters during World War II. During this time, he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant, and received many honorable recognitions, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
On August 25-1945 he married Louise Mauck and they had two children.
Harold retired in 1978 after 37-1/2 years of service with the U.S. Government, the last 30 being with the U.S. Post Office.
Harold accepted the Lord as his personal Savior when he was a teenager and was active in church activities for many years. He was a devout man who loved his Lord, his family, and his country.
