Donna M. Day, 77, of Kearney, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home.
Born May 3, 1942 Donna Mae was the first of 2 daughters for Bernard and Dorothy (Holoubeck) Bond of Kearney Nebraska. Donna graduated from Kearney Longfellow High School, class of 1960.
She married Dennis Day of Gibbon in 1962. They had 2 children, Linda and Larry. They later divorced.
Donna held many roles in her lifetime beyond daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was a tailor, a school lunch lady, a Girl Scout leader, member and officer of Parents Without Partners, office assistant at Baldwins and JL Clark, office manager at Second Chance Classics, Business Services assistant at Kearney State College, clerk at Buffalo County Clerk’s Office, and most recently receptionist at Sampson Construction. Her life outside the office was rich in appreciation of the arts, in particular local music events, tending to her yard and garden and preserving the produce from them, and making pies for friends and neighbors. Her 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Steven were the light of her life.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Linda Manfull and husband Ray of Valley Center, KS; mother, Dorothy Bond of Kearney; sister, Marie Reiter and husband Irv of Kearney; granddaughter Taylor Manfull, grandson Steven Manfull of Valley Center, KS; nieces, Lori Reiter, Paula Marzolf and husband Lannie and their daughter Jenna all of Kearney, and daughter-in-law, Sher Marchman-Day of Kearney.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Bernard Bond, and son Larry Day both of Kearney.
