From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:

Barbara Stahl passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019. She was 81. She was the daughter of Hewett Bell Bogart and Margaret Sidney (Cluck) Bogart of San Antonio, Texas. Barbara married James Stahl and moved to Boerne, Texas, where she lived the rest of her life enjoying the beautiful Texas Hill Country. She was employed as a federal civilian with the U.S. Army for 47 years at Camp Stanley Army Depot as a Transportation Manager.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tracy Lynn Stahl Berryhill and her husband Lane; her two sons, Terry Andrew Stahl and his wife (Hadel Klar), and Randall James Stahl and his wife Andrea; and two grandsons, Bryce Connor Berryhill and Colton Chase Stahl. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Stahl.

Barbara loved reading, vacations at the coast with her family, garage saling, and arts & crafts. She also enjoyed flower gardening; her flower arrangements were so beautiful and were in high demand. She loved making things with her own two hands and giving those creations to family and friends. Barbara was a master seamstress. She handcrafted beautiful dresses and pinafores for little girls known as Tracy’s Teddies and Ashley’s Angels. These were sold in a shop in Boerne owned by Louise Epperson. She was so pleased that her line of little girls’ clothing was a big hit to the Mothers of Boerne.

Boy, that woman was lucky at scratch offs and slot machines! Every morning she would stop at Flagstop Café for breakfast and a scratch off. If she won, she made sure they had film for their Polaroid camera so she could get her picture taken for the Winner’s Board. She was equally lucky with the slot machines at Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Louisiana and Eagle Pass. If you were with her on these excursions, she would gladly share some of her winnings to you could gamble too!

Barbara was fiercely protective and supportive of her children. She always attended their dance recitals, sporting, and school events. She would even sit in the deer blinds on various occasions while her husband and sons hunted deer, and she camped and picnicked along the Guadalupe while they fished. But Barbara also enjoyed girl time with her daughter! Those two loved to shop and Barbara taught her how to recognize true antiques in the shops they went to.

The thing is, Barbara enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, or just sitting in her kitchen with friends or family visiting for hours on end.

When she was blessed with her grandsons, she doted on them and was so proud to brag to anyone who would listen about how handsome, smart and talented they are.

When you think about what you would want from a Mom, Barbara checked all the boxes. She was always there, always supportive, and always made time to listen. She was the epitome of what a Mother should be. When you asked for advice, she would give it to you straight; sometimes not what you wanted to hear, but it was always the truth and what you needed. Barbara was consistent, reliable, and always there. She is irreplaceable and will be forever missed.

A Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home and a Graveside Service followed the next morning at Sisterdale Cemetery.
