Funeral services were held 2 PM, Friday, September 13, 2019, at Liberty Emmanuel Holiness Church of Jesus Christ, in Ben Hill County, Georgia. Interment was in the Frank Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia.
Mrs. Stone was born June 13, 1942, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Reason H. Whitley & Edna Louise Cody Whitley. She lived in the community all of her life and was a packer for Lowell Packing Company and she also worked at Life Care Center. She loved her church and her family. Mrs. Stone was a member of Liberty Emmanuel Holiness Church of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband Gene Stone of Fitzgerald; children: James & Marie Ray of Fitzgerald, Tina Roberts of Tifton and Frank Ray of Atlanta; grandchildren: Tim Ray, Justin Ray and Denay Mitchell; a great-grandchild, Cooper Mitchell; two sisters: Bobbie Brown of Fitzgerald and Bernice Helms of Abbeville; and a brother Ronnie Whitley of Tifton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doctor T. Johnson, Jr.; three sisters: Betty Cooley, Sarah Wheelus, and Dorothy Watson and three brothers: Johnny Whitley, Lawrence Whitley and Billy Whitley. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
