Melanie Tolbert went to be with her Lord on September 2, 2019. She was born on August 3, 1960.
Melanie's father, Roy Baker, served as a SSGT in the United States Air Force. She grew up all across the country, states including Louisiana, Texas, Washington and Georgia. 
Attended New Caney High School and graduated in 1978. Attended Sam Houston State University and received her Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1982.
She met her husband on August 14, 1981 and married on February 15, 1982.
She gave birth to twins, John and Emily, on April 23, 1989.
Melanie was a brilliant woman, a loving teacher that taught in the education field for nearly 20 years, from 1996 - 2015, an avid reader and had a strong passion for gardening and planting succulents as well as being by the ocean.
Her granddaughters, Cailah and Willow, quickly became the loves of her life when they were born in 2015 and 2019.
She will be remembered by her kind heart, selflessness, compassion and loving personality.
A Visitation Service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, Texas on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m.
