Mary Ann Peck married Benjamin Montgomery on 8 October 1871 in Ingersoll, Canada where she was born. In 1876, after the births of their sons, Thomas, Alexander, and John, the family immigrated to Linn County, Oregon where their daughter, Lydia, was born. By 1880 they had settled in Greasewood of Umatilla County, Oregon. Twins, Robert and Lucy were born in Helix, Oregon in 1881. Mary Ann and her unmarried daughter, Sarah, continued to live in Helix until after Benjamin died in 1883. According to the US Census, by 1930, both had moved into the Pendleton home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and William H. Albee, then later relocated with them to Multnomah County where Mary Ann continued to reside until her death in 1937. Mary Ann Montgomery was buried in Helix Cemetery with her husband, Benjamin Montgomery.
