Marilyn (Morrissey) Hubbard Montray was born in Bronxville, NY on August 18, 1939. She passed away on September 10, 2019, in Newtown, Connecticut, having recently celebrated her 80th birthday. Lynn was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Viola (Crane) Morrissey and had lived in Westchester County. N.Y. for most of her life. She moved to Newtown, Connecticut in 1988.
Lynn was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband and best friend, Edward H. Montray and her brother John Morrissey. Lynn is survived by her daughter, her son, and two step-daughters, along with their respective spouses. She was the loving Grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a cherished Great-Grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother and his wife; a sister-in-law; her dear friend and companion, and many cousins, nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
Lynn was deeply connected to her Savior, Jesus Christ. and went to Mass as often as she could at her beloved St. Rose of Lima Church. She was involved in several prayer groups and in Bible study classes. She was a devoted member of the following organizations: St. Rose of Lima Women's Club, Mother Teresa's Lay Missionary of Charity, the Bereavement Group, St. Faustina's Cenacle, the Prayer Shawl Group, Spiritual Journey and with Elinor's House.
Honan Funeral Home at 58 Main Street, Newtown. will be providing services. Friends may call Monday September 16, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday September 17, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Ed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn's name to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
