Maria WIlliams, 76, of Pembroke Twp, IL, died on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at her residence. She was born on August 15, 1943, in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico. She married Johnny Williams on September 29, 1963, in Mexico. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters and son; Patricia Williams of St. Anne, IL, and Kristana (Leotis, Sr.) Davenport, of Kankakee, IL. Two sons; Johnny Williams, Jr. (Rosa Martinez), of Sun River Terrace, IL, and Joseph (Adilene) Williams in Chebanse, IL. One daughter-in-law; Yvonne Williams. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; Nathen Martinez, Leotis Jr. Davenport, Levante Davenport and Leana Davenport. One great grandson; Jayden Williams and one granddaughter; Yaneliz Velez. Maria had three brothers and one sister. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sons; Excell, Williams and Curdell Williams.
She was of Catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and Maria was referred to as the neighborhood grandma and affectionately known as “Mama.”
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Cotter Funeral Home, 224 E. Washington, Momence, IL.
