Carla Marie Sims, age 70, Texarkana, TX, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 8, 2019 at her home. Carla was born June 23, 1949 in Houston, TX to Carl C. and Benja Sims.
Ms. Sims was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She spent her early childhood in Beaumont, TX, where she attended French School. Sometime after her father's death in 1960, she and her mother moved to Texarkana, AR where she spent her remaining school years. Carla was a 1967 graduate of Arkansas High School. She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. She was employed by H. Ross Perot's Electronic Data Systems in the 1970's. In latter years she worked for The Samaritan Purse in Texarkana, TX.
Carla was an avid dog lover. She never forgot her best friend "Dog Buz". Carla was best known for her quick wit and loved to make everyone laugh. She enjoyed listening to her music. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her friends going out to eat. He favorite being her yearly Birthday Celebrations.
Carla is survived by her beloved Aunt Margie Sims, Conroe, TX. Her many cousins in Southeast Texas and California, who she loved and spoke of often, and her host of special friends in Texarkana she always made laugh and all of the children and grandchildren of her very close friends which she always claimed each one as her very own (and they claimed her as well).
