BECKER, Ann R., "Nan" (Roettig), age 75, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
Born in Utica, New York, on June 29, 1944, Nan graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1962 and received her B.S. from DePauw University in 1966. She taught science at Centerville High School, and returned to teaching as a home instructor for the Kettering City School District when her children were older.
She was an avid gardener, a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, an involved member of Christ United Methodist Church, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was part of a group of women who swam 6 days a week at the Kettering Y, forming a lifelong bond over exercise and cups of coffee. She also treasured her church "Sisters" group, which has met weekly for over a decade.
Nan is preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Ann and Louis, and her brother Nick. She is survived by her son Mark Becker (Beth) and daughter Julie Hahnenberg (Ed), and her 6 granddaughters.
Family will greet friends 12-2pm on Saturday, September 14 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. Funeral Service will begin at 2pm at the church. Private burial in David's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Special Wish Foundation of Dayton.
