Evelyn Estelle Wade, 93, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. She was born on January 25, 1926, in Linthicum, Maryland, to the late Edith and Otis Fuss, Jr. Evelyn worked as a telephone operator at the U.S. Naval Academy when Pearl Harobor was attacked and went on to work as a proof operator for the Bank of Glen Burnie. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Pasadena United Methodist Church. When not working, Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling, playing cards, and cheering on the Orioles.

Evelyn was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert Grafton Wade. She is survived by her beloved goddaughter, Brenda Baumann and her husband, Charles; her cherished “grandson,” Kurt Baumann; her loving nieces, Bobby Ann Merritt, Consetta Voss, and Lori Fuss; her dear great nephews, Jason Sears and David O’Connell, and great-nieces, Brittany Sears, Lauren Voss, and Lyndsey Voss; and her beloved great-great-niece, Delaney Sears. Evelyn is survived by many other extended family and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Monday, September 9th, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
