"Page Pioneer" Joann Melton (Dennis) Williams' beautiful granddaughter, Devon Noel Williams, age 23, of Newport Beach, California, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she had been listed in critical condition after the Volkswagen she was traveling in veered off the road and overturned late Monday, January 26, the Irvine Police Department said. Orange County Fire Authority and Irvine police officials responded around 11 p.m. Monday to the crash on Shady Canyon Drive near its intersection with a street called Cloverfield. Devon was trapped inside the vehicle after the crash, and OCFA officials took about 20 minutes to free her from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life.

Police arrested the driver, Colin Selsted, on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony driving under the influence. Selsted, 27, of Irvine, CA, suffered moderate injuries, including cuts and bruises.

On the night of January 26, 2015, our sweet Devon entered a car with a drunk driver. He lost control and rolled the car numerous times. Although Devon was wearing her seatbelt, the trauma to her brain was severe. Family and friends gathered at the hospital to tell her how much they loved her and to let her know it was safe to leave them here and enter the Pearly Gates of Heaven. The doctor pronounced her brain dead at 5:05 pm on January 27th. Devon has gained the wings she so deserved. Devon is loved and adored by everyone with whom she ever came into contact because of her kind spirit and her zest for life. Her memory will forever live on.

Devon was born on CHRISTmas Eve, 1991 to Michael D. Williams and Kelly Hladis.

Besides her parents and paternal grandparents Joann Melton (Dennis) Williams #202819020, she is survived by her sister, Alyssa (Dennis) and their son, Jackson.

A memorial to celebrate Devon's life was Saturday, February 7, 2015. It was an open house from 1-5pm for friends and family located at 1644 Galaxy Drive, Newport Beach, California.
