Steven Lee Stanley, 66, passed away August 28, 2019, with his children and grandchildren by his side at Methodist Hospital.
He was born 6/29/1953 in Des Moines, to LeRoy and Ruth Stanley.
He served in the United States Army
and retired early from the United States Postal Service.
His hobbies included farming, fishing, hunting and being around family. He enjoyed helping others in need.
Often, while on "dumpster-diving" excursions, he would find wheelchairs and walkers, fix them up and donate them to people in need. Other times, he found candy, toys and even makeup. He really enjoyed blessing others.
Mr. Stanley is survived by his mother Ruth Stanley, brothers Tim, Dan and Mark Stanley, two daughters Dakota, Christina Stanley-Conner; her spouse Mark Conner, two sons Steven Stanley, David Stanley; his spouse Megan Stanley and will be remembered by his six grandchildren Ciara, Brandi, Cody, Lilly, Allieah, and Piper.
He was proceeded in death by his father LeRoy Stanley, two brothers Greg and Jeff Stanley, two nephews Jeffrey and Jeremy Stanley and a grandson Steven Tyler Stanley.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 14, from 2 - 4 at Easter Lake Park (on the south end of the lake).
