Ms. Katie Lane Marshall was born September 15, 1957 in Candor, NC; the daughter of Ward F. Young, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and the late Mrs. Ernestine Marshall LeGrand. She departed his life peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

In addition to her father, she leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters, Yolanda Y. Miller of the home and Tiara C. (Demitrius) Lowery of Lexington, NC; eight grandchildren, R.J. (Keyuana), Datarius, and M’Laysia all of Winston-Salem, NC and ZaKira, Demitrius, Jr., Sincere, Colby, and Genesis all of Lexington, NC; seven great-grandchildren, A’Nylah, Carson, Egypt, Prince, Tiara, Tearani, and Teyuana all of Winston-Salem, NC; five sisters, Atelia Young, Carlyer (Teriq) Houston, and America (Terry) Washington all of Charlotte, NC, Johnsie (James) McAuley-Davis of Hazel Crest, IL, and Pauline (Freddy) Hill of Troy, NC; four brothers, Juan (Michelle) Houston, Demetrius (Toi) Houston, and Adrian (Kimberly) Houston all of Charlotte, NC and Maurice (Cyndie) McAuley of Iowa; three uncles, Henry, Paul, and Troy Young all of High Point, NC; four aunts, Pothine Simmons and Geneva Leake of Troy, NC, Willie Mae Robinson of Windblow, NC, and Ada Capel of Biscoe, NC; a very close friend/sister, Janice Ann LeGrande of Troy, NC; a special friend, Marvin; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
