Bonnie Goodwin, 89, of College Station, passed away Friday, September 6, 2019. Cremation services have been entrusted to Hillier Funeral, Cremation, & Bereavement Specialists of COLLEGE STATION.

Bonnie Tajima Goodwin, 89, of College Station, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019. Bonnie was born on April 15, 1930, in Tokyo, Japan to Tamizo and Setsu (Inoue) Tajima.

She grew up in wartime Japan, and had many tales to share. She met and married the love of her life, William E. Goodwin who was an Army officer and an Aggie. Throughout her husband's military career, Bonnie made many friends and traveled extensively. She was very talented, artistic, and energetic. After retiring from the Army in 1975, Bonnie and Bill settled in College Station, Texas. While Bill worked for College Station ISD, Bonnie was involved in the OWC Club, gourmet cooking, and the Bridge Club, as well as many other activities.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Tamizo and Setsu Tajima, her husband Bill, sister Matsue Tajima, and Grandson Patrick Goodwin.

She is survived by her brother Waichi Tajima and wife Kimi, sister Yoko Kobori and husband Akio, all of Tokyo Japan; two sons, Dr. James E. Goodwin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Robert W. Goodwin and wife Karleen of Chesterfield, Virginia, and one daughter, Helen Ahn and husband Robert, of College Station. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Charles G. Ahn, Jeffery J. Ahn, Nathan G. Ahn, Christopher R. Goodwin, William E. Goodwin, Kelly Santa Maria and husband Vincent; 2 great-grandchildren and her brother-in-law Robert E. Goodwin.

Bonnie had a servant soul.

There will be graveside services at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Texas, at 11 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
