Craig Bolivar McDonald, age 68, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Craig was born October 13, 1950.

He graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1968, where he played football for the state champion Baton Rouge High Bulldogs. He received a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (University of Louisiana, Lafayette) in 1973. He used his degree to manage the automotive department at K Mart and to open his own game room and two restaurants from 1973-1982. In 1982, he and Donna moved to Texas where he worked as an automatic transmission rebuilder until 1990. At that time, they returned to Louisiana where he pursued a teaching degree. He then taught American and World History and economics until 2009, at which time he retired to help his son, Boone, with his new landscaping business. Craig always had a project going, from designing and creating beautiful gold and silver jewelry, to building outrageous potato guns for his grandchildren, to kayaking, fishing, and flying drones. His passion was cooking, especially Cajun specialties such as seafood gumbos, jambalaya, barbeque shrimp, and fried catfish. The excellence of his cuisine was well-known.

Craig was proceeded in death by his father, Herbert J. "Mack" McDonald; his mother, Betty; and his sisters, Robby Wiley and Gail. He is survived by his wife, Donnabeth; his children, Janna Lee Vipperman, Wiley Boone McDonald, and Kelly Shull McDonald; his grandchildren, Gabriel Malik McDonald, Jacob Wyatt McDonald, Elaina Rose McDonald, and Morgan Leigh Vipperman; and his sister, Cary Ellen McDonald Bowman.

A visitation for Craig will be held Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A graveside service will occur Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A burial will occur at Forest Park -The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. A receptions for guests will follow in the Forest Park Chapel.
