D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home Obituary
Donna Hope Graham, age 85 of Sterling Heights, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township, Michigan. She was born August 27, 1932 in Aurora, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert Roy and the late Jessie Mae (nee: Kelly) Kennedy. Little did they know,…it was an appointment with destiny that would bring Donna and Robert together while enjoying an evening out bowling. As friends often do, they just can't help but play matchmaker when they envision something special,…and it's just that kind of care that friends of both Donna and Robert shared that goaded them to meet. It wasn't long before that meeting turned into a relationship, which then turned to betrothal, and ultimately to that glorious day on November 3, 1956 when the two became one and began their life's journey as husband & wife. Together they built upon the comforts of home, raised two beautiful boys, and grew deeper in love with each passing day. Donna has been hailed as a great Mom and Homemaker, and she poured the best parts of herself into the care and love of her family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Donna exuded her own brand of TLC to them all,…but even more specially to her sweet cherubs, her grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life and never ceased to infuse her with immeasurable joy and pleasure. Spending time with family was always a high point for Donna, and she cherished each opportunity she was given to immerse herself in their company. Coming from an age where a lady's hairdo just had to be right,…like so many other women, Donna had a standing hair appointment each week and Friday was her day. Whatever life was throwin' at her, you could count on the fact that Donna was heading into the weekend with a fabulous coiffure! After a long week of tending to the responsibilities of work and home, enjoying a little weekend fun meant looking her best,…and Donna had that in spades. Donna was also known for her love of shopping and scoping out the many deals that lie waiting in the marketplace, wherever that may be. It wasn't always about purchasing, but rather dreaming and envisioning something special,…and she possessed a keen sense for both. She often managed to snag some great deals, and was constantly adding to the plethora of presents earmarked for Christmas. Donna was a giver, and Christmas was her penultimate event for sharing her heart. There were so may gifts around and under the tree, you'd have thought that she was buying for an army. But alas, it was merely for her tiny platoon who came away the "victor's of the spoils" and the incredible benefactors of her giving and compassionate heart. Speaking of around and under the tree, part of Donna's Christmas excitement had as much to do with her bedazzled tree as it did with the gifts surrounding it. Her Christmas tree was the focal point of her holiday experience in decorating, and Donna always created a tree fit for royalty. She poured her heart and soul into each ornament's placement, a touch of artistry as only Donna could achieve. Each and every season, her tree was truly something to behold and savor. Donna was the beloved wife of Robert Wayne Graham. Dearest mother of Kelly (Elizabeth) Graham, the late Lance Graham, and the loving grandmother of Kevin, Travis, and Karly. Donna was preceded in death by her eight siblings; Harold, Evelyn McCoy, Cecil, Ebert, Phelps, Kenneth, Dale, and Larry. A Memorial Service for Donna will be held at a later date yet to be determined. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
